Shabby Chic?

Ok, so the verdict is still out on this one. I messed up while trying to ink just the letters of the word -thanks- on the card, so I decided to just spread my ink pad all over. It is kind of shabby looking...And then, I added this beautiful, chic flower to the mix!
I just finished straightening up my scrap room. Maybe I should go get creative and mess it all up again. It's way too hot to go outside right now!

Inspired

These two creations are inspired by three people.

I loved the coffee card I saw on Vicki's blog, and thought I should try it myself. Then, I saw where Nona is having a challenge on her blog. I had to have this coffee stamp set when it was released (I'm not sure how long ago), but I've never used it (until today!). The "foam" is liquid applique and I added real coffee grounds as sprinkles.
I used some scraps from my Good Times PP and the Fun Times is from Friendship Word Puzzle.
Sorry the lighting is so bad.

I've mentioned Kim's tutorials before, and this one for a money holder was so great! I just used mine as a pull out card. The colors are a combo I've never used on a card or LO. They really aren't me, but I think they look great together.

A Card AND a Layout!

I started making this card a few weeks ago, but I just couldn't decide how to finish it. I added the thank you, photo clip, and flowers this morning. I really like it now!

A Whole Lotta Love
I found some time last night to start this layout and put the finishing touches on it today. I am waiting for a large picture order to arrive, so I opened up some old pictures and found these. My son adores his aunt. I love these pictures because it really shows his sweet side.

Another Waterfall Card

I used scraps left over from a gathering to create this card. The card is a white base with citrus leaf CS (embossed with my cuttlebug birthday folder).

I pulled out an old stamp set, Special Days, to stamp the 2 x 2 squares. The brads are MM (some of my favorites).

I love these colors. It's been a busy morning, and I actually didn't feel like doing much crafting (say what?). I just listened to the Grey's podcast from last week. Shonda and Betsy assure us that Derek and Meredith are together. They better be!

Blog Award

I got this cool award from Jenn. Thanks so much! I was actually shocked to see my name when I clicked on your page this morning. So, I guess I need to pick a few people and pass this along. Jenn, you'd be on my list if you hadn't sent it to me!

These are a few blogs that I check daily-- Sparkle, Jena, Kim, Laurel, and Marjorie. I could chose many more, but these are on the top of my must check list! I get a lot of inspiration for each one of you. Thanks.

Have a great day everyone!

**Laurel, I just saw on your page, as I was checking my links, that you got one of these yesterday. Yeah!

Cute As A Button

Really, she is! Sometimes, I have to remind myself when she is screaming in the car or when she is getting into all my cabinets. We've definitely hit toddlerhood. Seriously, I love it!

These are cute pictures I took when she was about 2 months old. We were visiting my Godmother and her whole family in WV (where my parents live). She just sat there, taking in all the fun.

I used the colors from Marjorie's Color Challenge (watermelon, hydrangea, heavenly blue, and moonstruck). Everything is CTMH, except the buttons. I am not sure where I got those, but it felt great to use them. This took me about 30 minutes, which is record time for me!
Ok, so who else has the Wii Fit? I did my 30 minutes of training today. Silly, but it felt great!
Gotta go because nap time is over.
Enjoy!

Nothing New

Well, I have nothing new to show you all this week. My scrap area hasn't had a visit from me in over a week. We've been so busy with our visiting family members. Oh, and I had way too much TV to watch this week (DWTS! AI! Grey's!).
We are out of town for Memorial Day weekend, but I will be back next week to share some new creations.
Have a happy and safe holiday!
Until then...

Big Birthday Day!

Today was my daughter's first birthday. It was so much fun! She loved the cake, the balloons, the cake, the balloons (seriously, she loved them)... it was a wonderful day!

This weekend, my husband, father-in-law, and dad put together a swing set for the kids. I am so grateful for their hard work!

Here's a very quick gift I made for a hostess this weekend. I used a tin I bought from specialtybottle.com. I learned how to make this on the CTMH Bulletin Boards. You use Avery labels and wrap them around Hershey Nuggets. So simple!

I am sure I will have lots of layouts to create from this wonderful day. I captured some really great pictures. Stay tuned for more!

Marjorie's Challenge #18

I have to say that I am very pleased with how this layout came together. I've had these pictures, just sitting in an envelope for months now. I am so glad I chose to use them for this color challenge.

Most of you (I'm sure) check out Marjorie's challenge each Monday, but if you don't, you need to click on her name NOW! They are very motivating, and I know they force me to use colors and supplies together that I wouldn't on a regular basis.

I didn't do any stamping on this one. I did use kiwi and key lime ink to color the S. I am loving the big blooms. They add a lot to the page without much work on my part! :-)

The layout on both pages is is quarter pinwheel from Reflections. It's a great way to get 7-8 pictures on a layout in no time!

Acrylic Block Stamping

I watched another one of Kim's tutorials yesterday, and I decided to try this (so simple) technique with a card. I used my Acrylic block as a background stamp. This is a sample card for a gathering I am having on Sunday. I am going to change the card up a bit (what else could I do to the middle of the flower besides a brad?), but will still use these colors. It seems that I don't have much ribbon in bulk, so Dutch Blue is my only summer color choice.

I took the three kids to an indoor bounce house place this morning. They had so much fun! It makes nap time a little longer, so it is a win-win situation for all of us!

Waterfall Card

I am so glad I took the time to watch the tutorials on Kim's blog today. You should check them out. I've never created a waterfall card, and I am not sure why because it was so quick and easy!!!

I used scraps (don't you get tired of hearing me say that?) and spring colors, even though it is feeling a lot like summer here in FL.

Kim, thanks for the inspiration!

Another Quick Layout

Here is one more for today! I think this 9x9 album will be a quick finish if I keep working on it! It is hard to come up with things for every letter of the alphabet, but N was easy for me. Scarlett is an AMESOME sleeper. Here she is about 8 weeks old taking a nap by the pool.

Simple Layout

I had to make something today, and even though I wasn't feeling very creative, I managed to come up with this 9 x 9 LO for my daughter's ABC book that I am starting to put together. I created a 8 x 8 ABC's of Bryson's first year book, so of course, I have to make one for Scarlett! It's not much, but maybe it was what I needed to jumpstart into more projects.
It's so much fun to watch them together. Scarlett's been walking for about two weeks. She still stumbles and crawls some. Bryson gets excited when she walks and makes sure I am watching to see her on the go.
Enjoy!

A week already?

It's been a week since my last post?? It surprised me to see that when I opened my blog this morning. We had a great weekend! Nathan and I got a lot of things accomplished around the house, and I am ready for sweet Scarlett's first birthday next week. My sister and I went shopping this weekend, and we went to see What Happens in Vegas. Two movies in two weeks. That is very rare for me!
My paper crafting has been on the back burner. I am still stuck on Marjorie's color challenge from last week. Maybe I will be able to create something when she posts the new one today!

Here is a fun picture that my husband took on Saturday when he took the kids to the park. Bryson is so funny. He's 3 1/2 now, and he still loves the toddler swing. Silly kid!

Have a great day!

Weekend Projects (2)

Ok, so I messed up putting new pictures in the other post. I am not sure what I did wrong, but here is a picture of the Mother's Day card I made last night. I used some scrap patterned paper and Hollyhock CS. I also used some blooms (one that I dyed Hollyhock, clear buttons, and hemp. I think it is different, but very pretty. I am sure my mom will enjoy it. I just hope it makes it to WV in one piece!

Weekend Projects

I finally finished my layout. I am really pleased with the outcome. I used the Best Friends Forever Level 2 kit, my Reflections book, Dimensional Elements, and embellishments. This picture of my baby girl is so fun. You gotta love it when a baby giggles.

Stay Tuned

Ok, so no new artwork in a few days... Sorry! I am working on a layout, but it is one of those that I have to leave alone a bunch of times to think about what to do next. I'm silly like that.
I saw the new Patrick Dempsey movie last night. Oh, he is so dreamy!
We're off to the zoo this morning, but I'll be back tonight with the completed layout. Well, I hope! This is a fun picture of my son and me. I found it on the computer. B is 3 1/2 now, so this is exactly 3 years old. What a little cutie!
