Off to Convention

I am leaving for convention today, and I still have a million things to do. Guess that happens when you leave behind two kids and a husband on crutches... My sister will be helping out, but keep in mind that she is 8 mos. pregnant with her 2nd child. Crazy times! I am so grateful for the days away, but sad to leave my sweet kids. I've never left them to go do anything fun! I hope it is a blast. :-)
I have nothing to share today, but I am sure to be WAY inspired to create when I return!

Happy Birthday

I noticed on Jenn's blog last week that she had a birthday coming up! I made her this cute card inspired by her. I love how she has been using the embossing folders in different ways. It is so cool to see two of them together!
Hope you had a great day, Jenn.
I am getting ready for convention, but feeling a little under the weather. I sure hope it passes before Wednesday. I am very hopeful. :-)
I am a slacker, because I still need to make my roomie gifts... I hope to get motivated tomorrow.

Slump

I am in a slump, and I sure hope I can get out of it soon!!!
I sat in my scrap room today and couldn't think of anything to create. I ended up making this quick card. I love this Bella image I received from Jenn. I paper is OLD patterned cardstock I've had in my stash. I love the colors.
I spent an hour or so straightening up my scrapping supplies this evening. I had a big mess. I seem to create one everytime I start a new project!
One week until convention! Yeah!

Rare Treasure

The main reason I scrapbook is to preserve my memories, but I also scrapbook because I love it! It is so much fun to look at my pictures and creations time and time again.
This is one of my very favorite layouts of my DD. I created it a few months back, but I never shared it here. I am busy unpacking after my trip, so it might be a few days before I have something new.
I used minimal supplies, but it all just seems to come together perfectly. Isn't she cute in her Valentine's Day dress?
Enjoy!

Something Simple

I brought a few supplies with me on my trip to use to make cards. One thing I packed are some old sentiment stickers. I really don't use stickers anymore, but I am trying to get better at using what I have in my collection. The font is so fun! I placed the "congratulations" on cardstock and cute around the edge of the sticker. I like it that way because I can't see the edge of the sticker now. Does that make any sense?
I love the embossed card base. It really makes a white base POP! The center of the Prima flower is a clear button with Watermelon cardstock behind it.
Nothing fancy. Just simple and fun!!

Expecting

NO, it is not me! :-) I might not be finished having children, but I need to wait until one of my two hits Kindergarten before I think about it again. Or, maybe I will just be surprised one day. You never know!

I found this cute stamp in the dollar section at Michaels. I couldn't pass it up because I needed to make a card for a friend of mine. She is expecting her first baby in February, and she is so excited.

I still haven't gotten any Copics, so I am using colored pencils for now. At least I had pencils to match my paper. :-) I am saving my money for CTMH convention!!!!!
We are back visiting my parents for the week. I hope to sneak in some more creative time, but we are having lots of fun out in the pool.
ENJOY!

Summertime Layout

I just love these pictures of Scarlett that I took a few months ago. We gave her the water playmat for her birthday, and some of these were taken that day (the bottom row). The layout just kind of came together after I looked and looked and looked at everything I had sitting on my desk. I realized that I don't have enough summer stamps. I mean, we live in FL, I need those!!! :-)
I used a lot of different supplies on this one. For one, I used some of the RAK items I received from Kari. Gotta love the flowers and dew drops.
I couldn't help but used my trusty Rustic Flowers stamp on the Ocean CS. I think that flower might be my favorite flower ever. I cut apart some of the stamp from the Summertime set. That's how I got the "Splish Splash" and the beach ball.
The Summertime...and the livin' is easy is from the Summertime set, too. So perfect for this LO! I still struggle a bit with that pigment White Daisy ink, but it looks ok.
I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. I did manage to create some time to scrap a little, and my sister and I went out for pedicures and manicures while our husbands stayed home with napping children today. My husband is still on crutches for another 4 1/2 weeks. It's a bit of a challenge, but we're managing.
We're just so lucky that the surgery was a success!
Enjoy!

Simple Card

I made this 4 x 4 card using some of my Let's Get Together scraps. I love this paper, and I finally purchased the Delight In Everything stamp set. I used another one of my jeweled brads in the center of the paper flower.
I've seen so many cute ways other scrappers are piercing their creations. I decided to pierce around the flower. I love the way it turned out!
No sentiment on this one yet. I'll be able to use it for any occasion.
My DD has an ear infection, but she seems to be feeling better. We're lucky, so lucky, because it is the first time she has been sick EVER. She'll be 14 months old next week.
Anyone else excited about convention? :-)

Color Challenge #26 Card

Ok, so I added Chocolate to the colors Marjorie chose (Buttercup, Honey, and Sweet Leaf) because I really don't have much Buttercup at all. I don't have the ink or any cardstock. Crazy! :-)
I had a touch of Buttercup that was on the back of some B&T paper, so I used it on the Chocolate strip. I just received my Spot On Backgrounds and With Love stamp sets last week. I am already so glad I decided to go ahead and get them!
The "lean on me" is from the Friendship Word Puzzle. That set has seen a lot of ink lately. Gotta love that!
The center of the flower is a brad I've had for over two years. You can't really tell in the picture that it has a jewel in the center. It really matches the Honey color.
Oh, and I almost forgot to add that the card is 4x4.

Spring Card

I had a few minutes to check out Kim's new Spring Card tutorial last night. I put this card together using paper from the Best Friends Forever kit. I really think it turned out cute.
We are on vacation (visiting my parents). I only had minimal supplies with me, so I decided to use the Friendship Word Puzzle stamp set. I love how the random stamp "friend" square looks!
I hope all my American friends had a wonderful 4th (and Canadians had a great Canada Day last week)! We enjoyed a day at the beach. Well, as much as you can enjoy the beach with little ones who aren't crazy about the sand and saltwater. :-) My son has enjoyed playing golf with his Poppy and swimming in the pool at the house. I think both of the kids are ready to go home and see their Daddy (who is doing very well after his surgery--but still on crutches).
Until next time!

Challenges

Marjorie's challenge is Moonstruck, Cranberry, Lilac Mist, and White Daisy. I really want to make a layout with these colors, but I am waiting to see how my pictures from the 4th turn out. I used scrap cardstock and my Friendship Flowers stamp set. Oh, and yeah, I used Say It In Style AGAIN! :-)

I have really loved how others are using their stash on layouts and cards (especially Marjorie). For the layout, I used stickers that I bought a few years ago. I think I got them right before I completely stopped buying stickers. I look at them all the time, but today is the first time I've opened the package. They were a little flimsy, but I think they turned out great. The little flowers were on the sticker sheets, too! The striped paper is scraps from the Groovy Blossoms Level 2 packet. I put pansy purple over the chocolate stripes to match the stickers. The pictures are of my daughter, but there are pictures of my niece underneath because I am giving this to my sister. I just put Scarlett's pictures on top to show you all the page.

All supplies CTMH except the white brads and stickers.
