A New Post!

Don't pass out... I am actually posting a few pieces of artwork! :-)

This is a quick card I made using the Aspen papers. I love them, but I only have the pieces that I received in the consultant samples. I really don't have a need for snow themed layouts since I live where it never snows! It was fun to use the White Daisy pigment ink, too. I don't get that out enough.

I only have one good picture of my family from my sister-in-laws wedding. As you can see, it was a bright and beautiful October day. I also couldn't get Scarlett to cooperate that day. My little man was the ring bearer. He looked so handsome! I used the Dazzling Die Cuts and the Serendipity stamp set. I used a chocolate rub on above the family photo. It doesn't show up that good, so I am a little disappointed with it. Oh well!

This is my son with one of my high school best friend's daughter. They see each other a few times a year, and they sure have fun! We are actually going to see them Monday at Disney World (major perk of living so close to Orlando). I used a layout from the Autumn/Winter Idea Book with the Magic Moments PP. Oops, I forgot to take a picture of the companion page!

Take care, and thanks for stopping by! I hope everyone is getting ready for the holidays.

Simple, but Fabulous Cards!

I really love these cards. They are so simple, yet something about them makes them fabulous. Well, at least I think so...

I have a card workshop in the afternoon tomorrow, and my customers will be making each one of these. The Triangle Tri-Fold was inspired by Kim's tutorial. I think these little cards are so cute. I made mine 4 x 4. I used Evensong and the Gratitude stamp set. The Notebook card was my version of the card in the Idea Book. I used Coffee Stain and Circle Around stamp sets. The third card has the Juniper Damask B&T paper from Perfect Day. I love the Cocoa ribbon with this one! The clear buttons have B&T paper attached to them using Liquid Glass. I also dyed the Colonial White Waxy Flax Juniper. My friend Misty gave me that idea! :-)
I haven't completed a scrapbook page in a long time. I've been so busy working the business side of things, that I forget to take time to play! I've also just been so busy with the kids. We've been doing a lot of fun outdoor activities because it is finally cooling down here a little bit.
I am almost on my 100th post. I will definitely be getting some blog candy ready!

Notebook Cards

*Ok, so I have been MIA for about a week. We had a busy beginning of the week with school/playdates, etc. Then, Scarlett got sick and Bryson isn't feeling that great now.*

The cards were inspired by the Notebook cards in the new CTMH catalog. I won the stamp sets, Code It and Coffee Stain, at convention. I wanted to use them and needed a little inspiration. I also used the new rubons on both cards. Gotta love those!

I hope everyone is having a safe and happy weekend!

Friday Night Cards

I put the kids in bed last night and escaped to the craft room. My husband was out for the evening, so I had some time to create!
I used the Originals book and created these with the Pretty Simple on page 116. I love the simple layout of these cards. The first uses scraps from the More to Adore PP and the second is Boom-Di-Ada.
I love inking up my Dimensional Elements. So quick and easy!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

More Boom-Di-Ada

Now that I've opened and started cutting these papers, I can't stop! I am really bad about holding onto things and not using them. I am realizing just how silly I am!

This card is a layout from the new Originals book. It is the first card layout in the book, and I can't remember the name right now. It was quick and fun. I am trying to do a little more stitching, and I see that I need practice.

I loved, had to have, this coffee stamp set. Well, I rarely use it. I pulled it out for this simple, all occasion card. I really LOVE the new Hollyhock ribbon. This pattern is my very favorite!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. My husband is walking again, and we are all so happy. He took Bryson on their normal Saturday morning trip to the park. You should've seen the smile on the sweet boy's face! :-)

We are a little nervous about the storm headed our way. I went to Walmart at 8 A.M. this morning. I usually beat the crowd, but not today. Everyone was out buying supplies for school and for the storm. It was crazy! Also, my sister is due with her second child any day now. We are all a little nervous. I'll keep you all updated.

Slump

I am in a slump, and I sure hope I can get out of it soon!!!
I sat in my scrap room today and couldn't think of anything to create. I ended up making this quick card. I love this Bella image I received from Jenn. I paper is OLD patterned cardstock I've had in my stash. I love the colors.
I spent an hour or so straightening up my scrapping supplies this evening. I had a big mess. I seem to create one everytime I start a new project!
One week until convention! Yeah!

Something Simple

I brought a few supplies with me on my trip to use to make cards. One thing I packed are some old sentiment stickers. I really don't use stickers anymore, but I am trying to get better at using what I have in my collection. The font is so fun! I placed the "congratulations" on cardstock and cute around the edge of the sticker. I like it that way because I can't see the edge of the sticker now. Does that make any sense?
I love the embossed card base. It really makes a white base POP! The center of the Prima flower is a clear button with Watermelon cardstock behind it.
Nothing fancy. Just simple and fun!!

Simple Card

I made this 4 x 4 card using some of my Let's Get Together scraps. I love this paper, and I finally purchased the Delight In Everything stamp set. I used another one of my jeweled brads in the center of the paper flower.
I've seen so many cute ways other scrappers are piercing their creations. I decided to pierce around the flower. I love the way it turned out!
No sentiment on this one yet. I'll be able to use it for any occasion.
My DD has an ear infection, but she seems to be feeling better. We're lucky, so lucky, because it is the first time she has been sick EVER. She'll be 14 months old next week.
Anyone else excited about convention? :-)

Color Challenge #26 Card

Ok, so I added Chocolate to the colors Marjorie chose (Buttercup, Honey, and Sweet Leaf) because I really don't have much Buttercup at all. I don't have the ink or any cardstock. Crazy! :-)
I had a touch of Buttercup that was on the back of some B&T paper, so I used it on the Chocolate strip. I just received my Spot On Backgrounds and With Love stamp sets last week. I am already so glad I decided to go ahead and get them!
The "lean on me" is from the Friendship Word Puzzle. That set has seen a lot of ink lately. Gotta love that!
The center of the flower is a brad I've had for over two years. You can't really tell in the picture that it has a jewel in the center. It really matches the Honey color.
Oh, and I almost forgot to add that the card is 4x4.

Spring Card

I had a few minutes to check out Kim's new Spring Card tutorial last night. I put this card together using paper from the Best Friends Forever kit. I really think it turned out cute.
We are on vacation (visiting my parents). I only had minimal supplies with me, so I decided to use the Friendship Word Puzzle stamp set. I love how the random stamp "friend" square looks!
I hope all my American friends had a wonderful 4th (and Canadians had a great Canada Day last week)! We enjoyed a day at the beach. Well, as much as you can enjoy the beach with little ones who aren't crazy about the sand and saltwater. :-) My son has enjoyed playing golf with his Poppy and swimming in the pool at the house. I think both of the kids are ready to go home and see their Daddy (who is doing very well after his surgery--but still on crutches).
Until next time!

MCC

It's time for MCC (Marjorie's Color Challenge)!
This week, Marjorie chose Chocolate, Goldrush, Crystal Blue, Holiday Red, and Sunflower for the Color Challenge. I loved, loved a card I saw on Jenn's blog, so I decided to use her layout idea! (Thanks, Jenn!)
There is very little Goldrush on the card, because I don't own Goldrush ink yet. Also, I used Heavenly Blue CS and stamped on it with Crystal Blue. I am just trying to use up some things in the scrap bag!
Don't know why, but I am loving Rustic Flowers all over again. I hadn't used it in about a year, and now I can't put it away. I am also so glad my friend assured me that I needed the Say It In Style set. It's seen a lot of ink lately, too!

Right In Front of Me

Ok, so these supplies were left out on my table the other night after I created the *Wonder* layout. I had only a few minutes yesterday to sit down and create. I came up with this using some Free Spirit scraps and My Stickease. I am going to put it in my ready to send stash. I really need to work on building that up.

My husband had laparoscopic (sp?) surgery on his hip yesterday in TN, and he will be on crutches for 2 months! Oh my! I really need to make sure I try to keep my patience during this time... We pick him up at the airport tonight.

Father's Day and MCC

Like how I shortened Marjorie's Color Challenge to MCC? I'm trying to start a trend. Ha!
I made this swing card for my dad for Father's Day. I had a difficult time deciding where to use Cranberry, and settled on the small stamp/embellishments. I have another card I will post later today.

Fun Card

I've been watching more of Kim's tutorials. I created this swing card to use as an example for future card workshops. It didn't take much time at all!
I haven't created much in the past week. I thought I would be so productive because my husband was out of town, but I just didn't have it in me! I am working on my daughter's first birthday layout. I really want it to be perfect, and I really need to get over that because I'll never finish if I don't.
Have a great Monday! Thanks for all the sweet comments you all leave me. They make me smile. :-)

You Can Do It!

I made this very simple, yet powerful card for my dear husband a few months ago. Since then, he has lost over 60 lbs. through serious dieting. He looks like the man I met six years ago, and I couldn't be prouder! Oh, and he keeps it on the fridge!

Shabby Chic?

Ok, so the verdict is still out on this one. I messed up while trying to ink just the letters of the word -thanks- on the card, so I decided to just spread my ink pad all over. It is kind of shabby looking...And then, I added this beautiful, chic flower to the mix!
I just finished straightening up my scrap room. Maybe I should go get creative and mess it all up again. It's way too hot to go outside right now!
