A New Post!

Don't pass out... I am actually posting a few pieces of artwork! :-)

This is a quick card I made using the Aspen papers. I love them, but I only have the pieces that I received in the consultant samples. I really don't have a need for snow themed layouts since I live where it never snows! It was fun to use the White Daisy pigment ink, too. I don't get that out enough.

I only have one good picture of my family from my sister-in-laws wedding. As you can see, it was a bright and beautiful October day. I also couldn't get Scarlett to cooperate that day. My little man was the ring bearer. He looked so handsome! I used the Dazzling Die Cuts and the Serendipity stamp set. I used a chocolate rub on above the family photo. It doesn't show up that good, so I am a little disappointed with it. Oh well!

This is my son with one of my high school best friend's daughter. They see each other a few times a year, and they sure have fun! We are actually going to see them Monday at Disney World (major perk of living so close to Orlando). I used a layout from the Autumn/Winter Idea Book with the Magic Moments PP. Oops, I forgot to take a picture of the companion page!

Take care, and thanks for stopping by! I hope everyone is getting ready for the holidays.

Very Quick Layout

Ok, so I haven't posted artwork in forever, because I haven't created much of anything this month. I did sit down to put together this very simple layout the other day. I really am in a big creative slump right now. It is very frustrating. There isn't much to this one, but I am actually ok with that for now. Scarlett is finally letting me put bows in her hair! I have struggled with this for months because she was always pulling them out. I looked at her a week or so ago and told her that if she didn't wear it, I would. I put it in my hair, and you can probably guess how she felt about that! She wanted it back. :-)

Hopefully I will get back in the groove soon...

Thanks for stopping by!

Mini Pocket Album and a Layout

I saw Tresa's new video tutorial, and I just knew I needed to make one of these for my sister-in-law and her soon (like 3 days from now) husband. I am putting her "gift" and note from our family inside. She is getting married on her family's tree farm, so It's A Guy Thing was the perfect paper to use.
We are leaving tomorrow for a long trip to visit, attend the wedding, and visit some more. We can't wait to see everyone and enjoy some true fall weather. I am sure I will be ready to return to the warmth of FL before it is all over.

This is the inside of my trial one I made to make sure i knew what I was doing. I used Whoops-A-Daisy paper.

This is one of the bonus layouts with my Notebook workshop. I changed it up a bit, and I plan on adding some stitching and ribbon. It felt good to use some of my baby pictures I've had sitting around for awhile. I am currently working on my Magic Moments bonus layouts, but it will be at least two weeks before I can share those. I want you all to see them with the finishing touches! I was not a fan of the paper packet until I get busy using it. Now, I love it!!!

I hope to have a chance to post a few pictures while I am away. If not, I will be back in a few weeks! Don't forget about me. Of course, you won't! :-) How could you? I'll have blog candy after I return!

Fun Park Pictures and a Layout

I took Scarlett to the park with some of our friends while Bryson was at preschool last week. She loves it there. She even let me snap a few fun pictures. :-)
I came home and printed some out on my home printer to put on this new workshop layout. I wasn't crazy about the Magic Moments Workshop layout until I started working on mine. I really love it. I never thought I'd like all that Colonial White showing, but I was wrong. I also used my Friendship Alphabet set. I just love those letters! Sorry for the horrible pictures of the layouts. I was just too lazy to fix them this morning!

I have other pages in progress, but they need embellishments and/or finishing touches. I might be back later today with those. I just never know how much scrapping time I will get with the little ones. Usually, it is not much. Oh well, I really enjoy spending all this fun time with them!

Off to start our day! Thanks for stopping by. :-)

Perfect Day

Here are my "almost complete" Perfect Day Layouts. One lacks a title, and the other two lack journaling. I had to get them "ready" to show at the workshop last night. I had 13 kits sold for this month's event and 10 attendees to the workshop. We had a lot of fun! Now, you understand why I haven't posted in the past few days. I meant to take pictures of yesterday's set-up, but I forgot! Oh well...

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Sneak Peek...

of my current project. I have creativity flowing, but everything seems to be taking me forever. I guess that could be because I have a 1 and 3 year old in the house! Ha!
I finally opened and cut some of my Boom Di Ada papers. I love this packet, and I think I found the perfect pictures for it! I am hoping to have it finished later tonight, so stay tuned!
Notice that cool brad on the second picture? Oh, and the pretty Hollyhock ribbon in both pictures? I did manage to use some new product for this one!
Hope everyone is doing well. We spent the day indoors because of rain. I am so ready for the hot and rainy summer to be over!

I'm Back!!!

I decided to tackle this layout after all was quiet in my house tonight. I am thrilled with how it turned out. I've been playing with the layout of this one for days! I just didn't think it was perfect until tonight. I love these pictures of my sweet kids. I edited them on Snapfish and added the textured border. I distressed the edges of the photos with Hydrangea ink.

I used Liquid Glass to adhere Watermelon paper to the clear buttons. It gives a great, shiny look to them! The flowers are stamped with the flourishes from the Doodle Alphabet stamp set.

On a personal note, my husband is using his leg some this week. It is great to have him helping out more around the house. I especially enjoy the fact that he can take his own plate to the table and to the sink. :-) Sounds silly, I know!

Thanks to all the A/C sympathy. All is well now. Thank goodness!

It feels good to finally get some mojo back. I was getting worried! I have all this new stuff to play with, so I need to feel creative.

Rare Treasure

The main reason I scrapbook is to preserve my memories, but I also scrapbook because I love it! It is so much fun to look at my pictures and creations time and time again.
This is one of my very favorite layouts of my DD. I created it a few months back, but I never shared it here. I am busy unpacking after my trip, so it might be a few days before I have something new.
I used minimal supplies, but it all just seems to come together perfectly. Isn't she cute in her Valentine's Day dress?
Enjoy!

Summertime Layout

I just love these pictures of Scarlett that I took a few months ago. We gave her the water playmat for her birthday, and some of these were taken that day (the bottom row). The layout just kind of came together after I looked and looked and looked at everything I had sitting on my desk. I realized that I don't have enough summer stamps. I mean, we live in FL, I need those!!! :-)
I used a lot of different supplies on this one. For one, I used some of the RAK items I received from Kari. Gotta love the flowers and dew drops.
I couldn't help but used my trusty Rustic Flowers stamp on the Ocean CS. I think that flower might be my favorite flower ever. I cut apart some of the stamp from the Summertime set. That's how I got the "Splish Splash" and the beach ball.
The Summertime...and the livin' is easy is from the Summertime set, too. So perfect for this LO! I still struggle a bit with that pigment White Daisy ink, but it looks ok.
I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. I did manage to create some time to scrap a little, and my sister and I went out for pedicures and manicures while our husbands stayed home with napping children today. My husband is still on crutches for another 4 1/2 weeks. It's a bit of a challenge, but we're managing.
We're just so lucky that the surgery was a success!
Enjoy!

Sweet Family

I just love these papers. I don't have alot left either! Here is my sweet family, trying to pose for a picture on my daughter's first birthday.
I read an article Marjorie had posted on her blog, and I tried to follow the idea.
My journaling says "Nothing brings me more joy than being the wife and mother in this sweet family." :-)

Wonder

Don't you just love when your child has that curious look in his/her eye? My little boy loves the zoo. He gets so excited to see all the different animals every time we go. I love how this picture has the turtle above his head.
I've seen lots of layouts using this concept from aquariums and zoos. I knew I needed to create one of my own.
I learned how to use a makeup sponge to color the white chipboard letters from the CTMH bulletin board. Pam K. posted instructions, and it is so easy! (MANY thanks, Pam!) I've really enjoyed showing some of my scrapbooking friends this wonderful technique, too! I used Honey ink to color the whole letter. Then, I used the background stamp from Rustic Flowers over top with Autumn Terracota ink. I added more details with Indian Corn Blue(ICB) and inked the edges with ICB. I love how distressed it looks!

I am a big fan of the Hodgepodge Alphabet set! I am so glad I talked myself into buying it!

Finally...A Layout!

Well, here it is. I've been pondering this layout for way too long, so I decided to put the finishing touches on it today. I need to be able to move onto other projects!

It was fun to use these pastel colors because I haven't used them a lot on other layouts for Scarlett. I have all these embellishments just waiting to be used on pages. Oh, and don't you just love the embossed Big Blooms? I really had to work with the petals to give them life again, but it worked out great!

I used a spiral and a brad on one of the flowers. That idea was inspired by a Marjorie creation.
Sorry for the pitiful picture. I took the pictures in Scarlett's room, and now I see that was a bad idea!

I used the picture of her cake as the title (still not crazy about that, but I had to have the picture of the cake for memory sake), and there is hidden journaling under the big picture on the second page.
I realized today that I have been scrapping way too symmetrical lately. I guess it feels "safe" or something. I really need to step back out of that box.

Pretzels

I think her expression says it ALL! It was so fun to watch. :-)

The layout is super simple. I wanted to create today, but wasn't really feeling creative. Know what I mean?

This was out of my box because I usually use more "girlie" colors with her layouts, but I really like how these colors go with her dress. Seeing Marjorie's new challenge made me think of using this paper packet. Thanks for the inspiration!
